What is a question that is found in the 6 Step Coaching Model process used by life coaches around the world. The idea of asking 'What' arouses the neurons in the brain to seek more.
Today’s word is ‘WHAT’
The reason I chose this particular word is to demonstrate that becoming a successful life coach with freedom to design the life of your dreams while helping others plays an important role in defining your focus, your intention and ‘what’ you really want to achieve.
From the beginning of time when man first began to exercise his thinking mind he has always displayed the question of ‘what’, either by word of mouth or as an action. By this I mean it’s about understanding how you want to craft your lifestyle and align your thoughts and actions with your values, your passion and of course how you see your ultimate success. As a life coach, namely a life by design coach you are not only nurturing your attitude in a positive vein but taking on the mantle of living your dream life as an authentic leader. This is powerful and something your prospective clients will recognise within you. Helping others to find and live their lifestyle by design is part of your focus in becoming an effective life by design coach.
The study of life coaching allows you to unlock your potential as a focused, confident goal achieving individual and showcase your personal development progress and newly acquired skills to coach others in unlocking their potential. As a professional life coach, you will attract motivated clients who want solutions to their challenges and a piece of your unique coaching style so they too can achieve their goals. Professional life coaching can be learned and shows that you have given time to study the craft of life coaching.
A major consideration of becoming a life coach is the flexibility it offers to you for freedom to work as and when is best for you so you can fit work around your family, friends and whatever commitments you have. You can work wherever you choose from in person to virtual. Again, depending on where you are in the world and the time you wish to commit to your working day. This is a valuable consideration and when actioned wisely will pay you dividends on a regular on-going basis.
Earlier I mentioned that life coaching can be learned. You see life coaching when managed correctly can provide immediate value to you as the life coach and to your clients. Imagine waking up each morning with excitement because you know exactly which actions you can take during the day ahead and transform your own life for the better but also empower others to design their dream lifestyle too. Just think how you can design your future, right here in the present. A future helping others and a future being financially free with copious amounts of time to spend as you choose. What wonderful thoughts!
So, how do you begin the process of living life by design? Simply put you ask yourself a set of quality questions with the first being WHAT? There is no need to concern yourself at this stage of how you’ll turn your vision into a reality.
Many years ago, some of you may already know my story that as a young single mum of three children, all under five at the time and with an on-going health issue I decided I needed to change the trajectory of my life and create a style of living I could live with, that I could enjoy, I could prosper and ultimately leave a legacy. My journey began and I asked myself – “what do I want?” This very same question is what I invite you to ask yourself and ponder over the coming days. Ask yourself as many ‘what’ questions as needed to help you drill down into your psyche and discover what you really desire.
You can write your thoughts and answers to the ‘what’ question in a journal. Think about where you are in your life right now. Include your age, the people you live with, where in the world you live and in what type of property. Ask yourself about the work you do, the time you spend travelling to and from work, the job you have to perform, the amount of money you earn, and the costs involve in attending work! Think too about any study that you participate in and the outcome of doing and completing that study. Look at your health and any issues you might have experienced or are currently dealing with. What about your hobbies and leisure time – what do you do? Define too your passion and mission in life.
All the ‘what’ questions play an important role in you truly living the dream. There might be areas in your life that I haven’t mentioned, so go ahead and engage your brainbox into thinking about them and write in your journal. What you write is valuable content.
Part of my life coaching style is to be bold, so I encourage you to be bold and think significantly about ‘what’ you want in life. This is an opportunity for you to begin the design process. By the simple activity of thinking about ‘what’ you want encourages your RAS reticular activating system to get into gear and provide you with powerful ideas for your lifestyle by design. Embrace this journey of self-discovery as you are priming your brainbox for positive forward moving growth.
By the way, all of what I have said in this article contributes to your self-development and your success as an impactful and successful life by design coach.
